Worry: A Gentle Reminder to Trust

So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:31–34

Worry often creeps in when we feel out of control. But Scripture reminds us: we were never meant to carry the weight of tomorrow. God sees, knows, and provides.

🕊️ Worry is not believing God will get it right.
🕊️ Bitterness is believing God got it wrong.
— Timothy Keller

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:6–7

✨ Practical Ways to Let Go of Worry
Start your day with surrender. Before checking your phone or to-do list, whisper a simple prayer: “Lord, I trust You with today.”
Write it down. Keep a “God’s got this” journal. List your worries, then write a truth from Scripture beside each one.
Limit future forecasting. When your mind drifts to “what ifs,” gently bring it back to “what is.” Focus on what you can do today.
Practice gratitude. Each time worry arises, name three things you’re thankful for. Gratitude shifts your gaze from fear to faith.
Lean into community. Share your burdens with a trusted friend or prayer partner. God often speaks peace through others.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just need to trust the One who does. Let today be enough. Let grace be sufficient. And let peace guard your heart like a shield.
