“Once
you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of
your evil behaviour. But now He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical
body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish
and free from accusation.” Colossians 1 : 21-22
I have a friend
who is very hard on himself. He does not give himself permission to
fail or make mistakes. He expects great things from himself and his
standards are very high.
Of
course, it’s a good thing to have high standards and to work hard but
if a person can’t forgive himself for failures, it makes it much more
difficult to accept God’s forgiveness.
His forgiveness is filled with grace and with the encouragement to keep on moving forward.
Are
you able to forgive yourself when you fail ?
Can you learn what God
wants to teach you from failures ? Failure is part of life and provides
a great opportunity to learn and grow.
So, cut yourself some slack, forgive yourself, learn, thank God for His forgiveness and move one !
