Sometimes life can be really difficult. I know when I am feeling afraid, or it seems like things aren't going my way, I can get depressed. I want to share with you 4 things that really help me when I'm feeling discouraged. I hope they help you too!

1. Make a List
Make a list of how God has come through for you in the past. I like to draw a line down the middle of a piece of paper and write my problem/worry on one side, and God's solution on the other. It's so encouraging to see the way God worked things out in the past!

2. Reach Out
Reach out to a friend. When I'm feeling down, the last thing I want to do is talk to someone. But it always makes me feel better. Call, email, or visit a friend and ask how they're doing. Ask if you can pray for them. Get outside of yourself for a while and you will feel better!

3. Worship God
I like to put on worship music, close my eyes, and just start singing along. It helps me to kneel down and hold my hands facing up toward heaven. You can sing your own words to God too, or just listen to the music. There is something so beautiful and peaceful about music that glorifies God! It really brings me comfort.

4. Read the Bible
I find the Psalms especially comforting if I'm feeling down. Spending a few minutes (or longer) in God's Word will give you peace. I don't know how exactly it works, but reading the Bible never ceases to bring me peace and encouragement.

Have you tried any of these suggestions before? What do you do when you're feeling discouraged? Please share with us in the Comments.
